The Liberty of Letting Go

As the seasons shift, nature invites us to let go of what no longer serves us—making space for rest, renewal, and what’s to come. This intimate two-hour workshop blends yoga, meditation, and liberty horsemanship to help you ground, release, and reconnect.

What to Expect

  • Gentle Yoga (45 min): Trauma-informed and accessible, guided by Shawna Marie Rodgers. Chair yoga and standing poses will help you release tension and connect with your breath.

  • Living at Liberty (20–30 min): Join Hannah Francis and her liberty-trained horses as they model how to hold goals without agendas, relinquish the past, surrender to the future, and rest fully in the present moment—just as horses naturally do.

  • Meditation & Journaling (20–30 min): Reflect on what can be lovingly released to create space for the next season.

  • Closing Circle (15–20 min): Share takeaways and integrate the experience in community.

About Your Guides

Hannah Francis is the founder of Free Spirit Stables and a certified instructor of Carolyn Resnick’s Method of Liberty Horsemanship. Horses have been at the heart of her life since childhood, where she competed at a champion level before turning her path toward mindful connection and natural horsemanship. After leaving her corporate career during the pandemic, Hannah followed her passion full-time, studying liberty work for over two years with Carolyn Resnick and Nancy Zintsmaster.

She is also a certified Yoga & Equine Yoga Instructor, blending her love of movement, mindfulness, and horses into unique experiences that invite participants to slow down, connect, and discover presence through partnership with these extraordinary animals. Today, she shares her free-spirited journey at Free Spirit Stables in Santa Cruz, offering classes and workshops that honor the wisdom of horses and the joy of authentic connection.

Shawna Marie Rodgers is a certified yoga and mindfulness teacher based in Santa Cruz, CA. With over 500 hours of training, including immersive study in India, she weaves yoga, meditation, and Ayurvedic wisdom into grounding, nature-rooted experiences. Her workshops often unfold in partnership with horses and the land, helping participants reconnect with themselves through presence, reflection, and healing community gatherings.
